SynXis New Rates & Rooms Checklist

Properties that wish to make rates available on SynXis must ensure there is parity between both SynXis and Stayntouch PMS in some key areas, as outlined below. For customers with an active integration, so long as the rate code/room type combination is mapped in Stayntouch’s Channel Manager Configuration screen, rates, inventory, and restrictions will flow from Stayntouch PMS to SynXis when the rate plan exists in SynXis (minimum of PMS Rate Code and room types on the SynXis rate code to accept communication).

To highlight the process, we will look at building a new rate code in both systems. We will also show how you can ensure your room types are in parity should you add any new room types.

BUILDING A NEW RATE

1. In Stayntouch PMS

Build new rate code in Stayntouch PMS (please see this article for instructions).

Navigate to Settings > Rates > Rates > + ADD NEW.
Assign appropriate room types.
Build rate period.
Rates must be added for both single and double occupancy for every room type.

Map the rate code to SynXis in Channel Manager (see this article for instructions)
- Navigate to Settings > Rates > Channel Managers > SynXis OTA > + ADD NEW.
- For room types configured for this rate in SynXis, be sure to include those same room types in the Assigned Room Types column. Adding a room type here that is not in place for the same rate in SynXis will not make that room type available in SynXis, similarly removing a room type from the Assigned Room Types column will not remove that room type from the rate plan in SynXis; it will only stop future rate, restriction, and inventory messages from being communicated.

2. In SynXis

When building the rate code in SynXis, the most critical element for rate information communication with Stayntouch PMS is to ensure the PMS Code exactly matches the rate code being used in Stayntouch PMS.

BUILDING A NEW ROOM TYPE

Ensure room type codes are in parity between Stayntouch PMS and SynXis.

SynXis will expect the value in the PMS Code to exactly match the value in Stayntouch PMS for Room Code.

1. In Stayntouch PMS

Please see this article on creating room types. Once complete, you will need to confirm the Room Code below matches with SynXis as shown in the next section.

2. In SynXis

Navigate to Setup > Rooms > Add New. The most important consideration for communication flow is to ensure the PMS Code matches with the Room Code above.
Does your new room type need to be added to more rates? Make sure to circle back to the Stayntouch PMS Channel Manager screen as shown above to move the room type to the Assigned Room Types column after adding to the individual rate codes to ensure communication.

Perform a system sync post changes:

This step is only recommended when having made changes to your configuration as shown above.

In Stayntouch PMS navigate to Settings > Integrations > Central Reservations System > SynXis.
Check the RATE and INVENTORY boxes.
Select a month date range and click SYNC.
- We recommend starting from today. Only one month can be synced at a time. Repeat for each month for at least a year out. Can take 30+ minutes for messages to process and see the updates in the CRS.
