RemoteLock

RemoteLock is the leading provider of universal access control software for smart lock management and access control. It's application generates PIN numbers for door locks to guests via email once reservations have been checked in.

The RemoteLock integration with Stayntouch is based on a webhook communication that Stayntouch provides to RemoteLock.

To activate this integration, the hotel needs to contact Customer Support or Onboarding (onboarding@stayntouch.com) with an approval to generate credentials for RemoteLock.

Stayntouch will then provide the authorization credentials to RemoteLock, and RemoteLock will provide the endpoint to establish connection. Once the endpoint is provided by RemoteLock, Stayntouch will set up the following generic webhooks in Settings > Chain > Webhooks.

  • Check-In
  • Edit Reservation
  • Cancel Reservation
  • Checked-Out
  • Reverse Check-Out
  • Room Move

Once webhooks are set up and property approval is received for issuance of credentials, OAuth keys can be issued. Stayntouch will generate OAuth keys, and once the OAuth keys are created, Stayntouch will send them to RemoteLock.

STAYNTOUCH/REMOTELOCK INTEGRATION OVERVIEW

Sign in to your RemoteLock account.

Go to stayntouch.remotelock.com/connect and authorize your RemoteLock account.

Next, you’ll need to authorize your Stayntouch account with the Client ID and Client Secret provided by Stayntouch.

The Client ID and Client Secret will be shared with you by the Stayntouch Customer Support or Onboarding teams.

Your webhook URL shown on this screen should be sent to the Stayntouch Customer Support or Onboarding teams for configuration in Stayntouch. This webhook URL is applicable to all properties under a single chain.

Copy and paste your Client ID and Client Secret into the appropriate field and click Submit.

After authorization, you should be redirected to the Device Mapping screen: https://stayntouch.remotelock.com/auth/room-map

Select the Stayntouch property and the corresponding RemoteLock device from the dropdown.

Click Add to create another property-to-device association.

Click Remove to delete the association.

Once all the properties are mapped to RemoteLock devices, click Submit.

If you need to update a device to property mapping or add additional devices and properties please bookmark this URL: https://stayntouch.remotelock.com/auth/room-map

After clicking Submit you should be redirected back to the RemoteLock portal.

Your devices are now mapped between RemoteLock and Stayntouch. Guests that have been checked in through Stayntouch will now be automatically created on the RemoteLock system.

You’ll see the guest has been created in RemoteLock with the same start/end date and time that corresponds with the arrival and departure date and time in Stayntouch PMS. A PIN will also be generated for the guest, and common door associations will be added to the guest’s access (if applicable). Once the PIN is generated and emailed to the guest, it is also available in Stayntouch PMS on the stay card under ROOM > PIN, where you can view, email, or print the PIN code. The PIN will not be emailed to the guest automatically if they are checked in by a user in the PMS; to send the PIN to the guest after check in, the user should navigate back to the Stay Card and trigger the email manually.

The email subject line and body content for the emailed PIN for PMS check-ins is controlled in Dynamic Email Template settings called Text - Key Delivery Email.

Items to Note:

  • For this to be visible, please be sure to select Deliver PIN Code for room key via email from Settings > Rooms > Room Key Delivery > Rover Check-Ins.

  • When a room move is performed, the PIN does not change; guests can still access a new room using the same PIN number while the original room is no longer accessible using the PIN number. If a new PIN number is required by guests, the RemoteLock team needs to be contacted. Guests cannot choose their own PIN; it is always generated by RemoteLock.
  • If a guest's arrival or departure date is moved in Stayntouch PMS, these changes will be reflected in the RemoteLock system.
  • If a guest is cancelled in Stayntouch PMS, the guest will be deactivated in RemoteLock.
  • Checking a guest out in Stayntouch PMS will not deactivate the guest. The guest will continue to have access until their "end time".

KIOSK PIN CODE DELIVERY

The following configuration needs to be completed for PIN key delivery to be active and initiate the automatic sending of the PIN to guests who check in on Stayntouch Guest Kiosk:

1. Settings > Rooms > Room Key Delivery

2. Settings > Kiosk > General

Below is an example of the flow in Stayntouch Guest Kiosk:
