Stayntouch PMS Set Up a Custom Rate for a Group
A custom rate is a rate that can be configured for a group reservation and exists exclusively for that particular group block. Setting up custom rates from the Room Block Details tab is a fast alternative to configuring group rates in your hotel's settings. However, the custom rate’s pricing is static over a given time period and cannot change on a day-to-day basis (like a group rate can). Custom group rates will only work if a charge code is assigned from Settings > Hotel & Staff > Settings & Parameters > CUSTOM GROUP RATE CHARGE CODE.
Consider using a custom rate if:
- You need to quickly configure a rate for a group block.
- If you need to configure a charge code with the rate, then you MUST set up a group rate in Stayntouch PMS settings. Click here to learn more.
Note: Don’t let the terminology confuse you. Both custom rates and group rates are used for group reservations.

HOW TO SETUP A CUSTOM RATE
Step 1. Navigate to the Group Reservation
- Navigate to Groups > New Group.
Step 2. Group Reservation Overview
To begin configuring your custom group rate, you’ll want to have the basics of your group block setup.

With the group block selected, make sure you are on the Summary tab.
Step 3. Choose Custom Rate
Under the RATE section, choose Custom Rate.
The Custom Rate you create will only apply to this specific group reservation.
Step 4. Room & Rates Setup
Next, proceed to the Room Block Details tab.
Choose ADD ROOMS & RATES.
Step 5. Add Rooms & Rates
Select a room type from the dropdown menu.
The BAR (Single) price will appear for reference.
Assign a price based on the occupancy (Single Occ., Double Occ., and 1+ Adult).
You must enter a price for an additional adult. Enter $0.00 if you do not want to charge for additional adults.
Select the green + button to add new room types and configure pricing.
You may assign as many room types as you’d like to the group block.
When you’re ready choose UPDATE.
- Once saved, the rooms you have selected will appear on the Room Block Details tab. From here, you can switch between rooms and rates and change rates manually for different dates.

CUSTOM GROUP RATE ADD-ONS
Stayntouch allows properties to build custom group rates that incorporate specific rate add-ons. To enable this functionality for your property, please contact Customer Support.
Once activated, a Rate Info tab will appear within the group module. This tab centralizes your rate details, group rules, and add-on configurations.
The interface is split into two functional sections to distinguish between flexible and fixed charges:
1. Upper Section: This area displays the core rate details and any active Groups Rules & Restrictions. You can also manage Reservation Add-Ons here—these remain flexible and can be removed from individual guest stays if necessary.
2. Lower Section: This area is dedicated to Custom Rate Add-Ons. These are built directly into the group's custom rate and can be configured as INCLUSIVE or EXCLUSIVE (with the option to bundle the price).
To apply an add-on to the custom group rate, ensure the USE toggle is active. Once enabled, the add-on is automatically attached to every reservation created within that group block.
It is important to distinguish between the two types of add-ons:
Reservation Add-Ons: Applied at the stay level; these can be modified or deleted from individual bookings.
Rate Add-Ons: Hard-coded into the custom group rate; these cannot be removed from individual reservations once the block is established.
