Scheduled Reports
Scheduled reports are generated from the reports module in the Stayntouch PMS application itself. You can either run them manually, or you can schedule it to generate the report at a fixed time on a periodic basis. The time of report generation and destination for the report is configured in report setup by the user.
End of Day Reports
End of Day Reports are generated directly from the database and not from the Stayntouch PMS application; they include the guest balance, deposit balance, and A/R balance comparable with the journal balances screen after End of Day. This is raw data as stored in the database and therefore generated in a CSV (Comma Separated Values) format—like a text file. Excel is the most commonly used application to open CSV files, as it separates comma separated data into different columns and displays like a sheet. When you open a CSV file in Excel and use "Save As" to save the file, you will notice that the file format is not XLS—it will be CSV. Only when you change the format to XLS, will it save the file as an Excel file.
Because End of Day reports are raw data directly extracted from the database, there is header section to show the name of the hotel. This report is generated as part of the End of Day process, and therefore the time of report generation will depend on the time End of Day is run. To configure these settings, navigate to Settings > Hotel & Staff > Settings & Parameters.
