How Does the Release Date Impact Group Availability?

The release date assigned to a group block determines how a group’s rooms are released back into the group/house inventory. This rule applies to both cancelled reservations and “no show” reservations for group blocks.

Option 1:

In cases where the reservation cancels or “no shows”:

And the date is before the release date, the room(s) will be returned to the group availability, ensuring that the group has continued access to the room(s) until the release date is met or exceeded.

Option 2:

In cases where the reservation cancels or “no shows”:

And the date matches OR is after the release date, the room(s) will be returned to the house availability. The user will also notice that the room has been deducted from the number of rooms listed on the Room Block Details tab. This ensures that the hotel has access to as many available rooms as possible.
