Configure Room Types
To configure room types, navigate to Settings > Rooms > Room Types.
To create a new room type, click + ADD NEW.
First, enter the ROOM TYPE NAME. This will display for users internally.
The ROOM TYPE NAME will also display on guest-facing materials unless a ROOM TYPE NAME (TRANSLATION) is entered into the field directly below. You may not see this field if you do not have multiple languages enabled. You can leave this field blank if you want the name to appear the same internally and externally.
Enter the description of the room type in the STAYNTOUCH DESCRIPTION field. This will display to your reservation agents internally, and unless a translation is entered in the field directly below, it will also display during web check-in, within the room upgrade option, and on the Stayntouch Booking Engine.

Enter the room type code in the CODE field. This will not display in most places for users. This alphanumeric code should match the code used in any other external systems if applicable, such as your CRS.
Enter the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated in this room type in the MAX OCCUPANCY field. This number should reflect both adults and children combined.
It is a best practice to add a room type image here, by clicking CHOOSE FILE and selecting an image file from your files, which will be displayed internally and externally when offering room upgrades and on the Stayntouch Booking Engine. Horizontal images upload best in JPEG format at 905 pixels wide and 540 pixels tall, ideally under 200KB.
When you are done, click SAVE CHANGES to save your room type.
Repeat this process until all of your room types are added, taking care to ensure the room type codes align with your other systems if applicable.
To edit an existing room type, click the room type name.
As an example, I am going to enter a more long-form description that I want to display externally in the DESCRIPTION (TRANSLATION) field.
Click SAVE CHANGES to update the room type.
Now, let's review how to change the sort order of your room types.
There is a repositioning icon to the left of the room type name.
Click and hold the icon, drag the room type to your chosen spot, and let go. You'll see that the order has been successfully changed.
Next, we'll go over the process of deleting a room type. Before you can delete a room type, ensure there are no rooms constructed under it, no configuration parameters like housekeeping or rate settings applied, and no historical stays associated with it.
Click the red X icon to the right side of the room type to remove it.
Now, let's say we want to add a Spanish translation for the name and description. Navigate back into the room type by clicking on its name.
Choose the desired language from the SELECT LANGUAGE dropdown. If you do not see the language here, it has not been enabled in the language settings.
Enter the translated room type name in the ROOM TYPE NAME (TRANSLATION) field.
Update the DESCRIPTION (TRANSLATION) field with translated verbiage.
Once complete, click SAVE CHANGES.
