Demographics
To set up demographics, navigate to Settings > Reservations. First, we'll set up markets from the Markets section.
Markets are used to segment reservations and rates for reporting purposes. Click + ADD NEW to add the markets for your property.
Enter the market name in the NAME field.
Click SAVE CHANGES to add the new market.
Select BACK to return to the previous page.
Then, click Sources to view source options.
Sources are used to determine how your hotel receives the reservations. Click + ADD NEW to create a new source.
Enter the source name in the NAME field.
Click SAVE CHANGES to save the new source.
Click the BACK button to return to the previous page.
Next, select Origin Of Booking.
Whereas markets and sources can almost always be interfaced from a CRS, origins of booking are not generally going to come through a CRS interface and tend to be manually assigned. Click + ADD NEW to create a new entry.
Enter the origin name in the NAME field.
Click SAVE CHANGES to save the new booking origin.
Click the BACK button to return to the previous page.
Select Segments to manage segments.
Segments are not activated by default, and they tend to only be used by hotels working with a particular segment they want to highlight in their reporting later on (for example, short or long stay guests). Click + ADD NEW to create a new segment.
Enter the name of the segment in the NAME field.
Enter the number of nights in the LESS THAN NIGHTS field.
Click SAVE CHANGES to save the new segment.
Click the BACK button to return to the previous page.
Now, click Purpose of Stay.
Purpose of stay can be used for the guest to mention what the reason for their stay is. The reasons are system-defined and can be toggled on to be used on the right hand side.
Toggle ON the options you would like to use.
Click the BACK button to navigate back to the Reservations screen.
