Did You Know? Weekend Days Configuration

Did you know that weekend days in a hotel are actually considered to be Friday/Saturday and not Saturday/Sunday?

Hotels consider Friday and Saturday weekend days because:

  • Peak Occupancy – Most guests check in Friday and stay through Sunday.
  • Higher Rates – Demand is highest on these nights.
  • Leisure Travel – Weekend stays usually start Friday.
  • Operations – Staffing and services are planned around these peak nights.

To better draw attention to these nights being referred to peak nights, weekend days configuration helps the user to plan rates according to anticipated occupancy.

Hotel Admin users can select/deselect weekend days from Settings > Hotel & Staff > Hotel Details > Hotel Details > WEEKEND DAYS.

Weekend days will reflect on the Availability, Item Inventory, Groups, and Allotments screens according to the values selected in Settings > Hotel & Staff > Hotel Details > Hotel Details > WEEKEND DAYS.

Weekend days will also display in Revenue Management > Rate Manager according to the values selected in Settings > Hotel & Staff > Hotel Details > Hotel Details > WEEKEND DAYS.

Additionally, weekend days will reflect on the Forecast Report and Forecast Guests & Groups Report (in Reports > New Report) according to the values selected in Settings > Hotel & Staff > Hotel Details > Hotel Details > WEEKEND DAYS.

Moreover, in Settings > Guest Mobility > Check Out, labels that previously read ON SATURDAY/SUNDAY now display as ON WEEKENDS to reflect the weekend days selected in Settings > Hotel & Staff > Hotel Details > Hotel Details > WEEKEND DAYS.

Please note, Stayntouch Guest Kiosk check-out rules apply to configured weekend days +1.
