Canary for GMS & Mobility vs. Canary for Payment Authorization Only
CANARY FOR PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION ONLY
When a hotel is using Canary for payment authorization only, Stayntouch will need to share credentials upon approval from the hotel.
No additional webhook setup is needed for this.
Canary allows hotels to collect credit card authorizations from guests without needing the hotel to fax forms back and forth and eliminates PCI issues. Canary-connected hotels can send a link to a guest to complete the data on the card and what will be covered, etc. Once the data is entered, Canary then sends the credit card number or token to Stayntouch PMS for later processing. Notes and items still need to be updated and added, but the credit card can be securely delivered to Stayntouch PMS.
In the Canary portal, once the credit card is collected, there is a field where you enter the reservation number, and it passes the credit card over to the reservation in Stayntouch PMS. The credit card will be added to Stayntouch PMS, and it won't remove the original payment method. In effect, the credit card number added from Stayntouch PMS remains in the payment method dropdown, and the new credit card number entered by Canary becomes primary on the reservation.
