AILA ID Scanners Returning a "Not Connecting" Response

If a property is using AILA ID scanners, and they receive the following error messages, they should follow the steps outlined below:

  • Failed (Blank ID Number) for the guest xxxxx
  • Device not connected as seen in the below screenshot

Follow These Steps:

1. IOS updates on the iPad—if available please install.

2. Check the following on the iPad.

  • If the iPad has the lightning port, ensure that both Audio and Lightning ports are connected.
  • If the iPad has a Type C connection, ensure that the correct Type C cable is connected.
  • Ensure the iPad is connected to power.

3. Once the device is connected, there will be a beep. If there is not a beep, move to step 4 below.

4. When logged into Stayntouch PMS on the iPad, go to Settings > Devices. A screen similar to this will appear with AILA listed.

Go to the dropdown menu under ALIA, select CONNECT, and then click in RUN.

5. When asked if sound should play, select YES. Once this is run, the AILA STATUS should show as CONNECTED. If the AILA STATUS is CONNECTED, run a full set of scanning tests. If the AILA STATUS is not CONNECTED, reboot the iPad and redo step 4—this may need to be done several times.
