How to Download the Latest Rover Service File for Windows
Please note, you need Windows administrator rights to install the Rover Service file. Close the window running the https://pms.stayntouch.com, https://pms.eu.stayntouch.com, or https://pms.us.stayntouch.com web application and follow below steps. Once installed you can open the PMS Web App (https://pms.stayntouch.com, https://pms.eu.stayntouch.com, or https://pms.us.stayntouch.com) and start using it.
1. Access the following link by copying and pasting into a new browser: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DCf_q10QnW5LnrciThHguosQk79VNATw?usp=sharing
2. Right click setup_1.8.0.3_prod.exe and click Download.
NOTE: If the install of setup_1.8.0.3_prod.exe does not work, please try downloading setup_1.8.0.3_prod.rar file (compressed version), unzip/uncompress the file, and then install the file as per the instructions below. The setup_1.8.0.3_prod.rar file is solely a backup if the install of setup_1.8.0.3_prod.exe does not work.
3. Select Show in folder at the bottom of the screen to open the Downloads folder.
4. Or navigate to the Downloads folder on your Windows PC.
5. Right click on the setup file you just downloaded and select Run as administrator or double click to run the file.
7. Enter your Windows administrator credentials.
8. If you receive a warning message, click on More info.
9. Click Run anyway.
10. If you do not get the option to Run anyway, then right click on the file, select Unblock, and follow steps 5 to 9 again.
11. Accept all default selections to complete the installation.
12. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement.
13. Leave User Name and Organization blank. Follow the prompts and click Finish to complete the upgrade.
VERIFY INSTALLATION IS CORRECT
To ensure Rover Service is working as expected, please follow the steps below.
1. Confirm installation completed successfully with the right version.
Once installed, if you look at the program under Control Panel Programs and Features, it will show Rover Service and the version number. Please confirm the version number is correct (1.8.0.3).
2. Confirm Rover Service is running.
Search and open the Services window from Windows (it will be located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools).
3. Confirm credit card readers (Both MagTek swipe & EMV device) show the right indication.
Example: Check the light indicator color on the MagTek device.
- Red Color: Indicates the service is unable to connect with the Magtek device
- Green Color: Expected
- Green and Orange: Coming alternatively
4. Confirm Rover Service is working as expected.
Once Rover Service is deployed, a folder will automatically get created under the path C:\Stayntouch\Rover Service. This has the RoverServiceTestClient.html.
Close the PMS Web App (https://pms.stayntouch.com or https://pms.eu.stayntouch.com) from the browser and open RoverServiceTestClient.html in the Chrome browser.
Click Connect. You will see a Connected message. Click the OK button and then Observe. You will receive a Please Swipe message; click the OK button. Swipe the card from the device. You should see a popup window with the swiped card details. Close the test client RoverServiceTestClient.html.
5. Start Using
Now open the PMS Web App (https://pms.stayntouch.com, https://pms.eu.stayntouch.com, or https://pms.us.stayntouch.com) and start using it.
