Stayntouch PMS M3 Export File Balancing to Stayntouch PMS Reports
The below information will assist with comparing the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export file with Stayntouch PMS reports to balance the data represented in the export file.
The Stayntouch PMS M3 Export file is an XML format file, and the data contained in the file is not in any specific order, but the file is made up of two main categories: Statistics and Revenue.
In the M3 Export File, the room type revenue reported is not only the accommodation portion of the revenue, but it includes all revenue associated with the room type (i.e., F&B, miscellaneous, etc.).
ROOM TYPE REVENUE
The Daily Production By Room Type Report records the following
- Number of occupied rooms per room type
- Number of available rooms per rooms type
- The ADR (average daily rate) for the room type for the day
- The total revenue produced for that room type for the day (including accommodation revenue, F&B revenue, and miscellaneous revenue)
The below screenshots illustrate how the revenue is calculated from the actual reservations per room type.
ROOM TYPE: STANDARD BED ADA
In the example below, the room revenue component is 799.00 for room type Standard Bed ADA.
This shows the actual room revenue charged excluding taxes.
This is the entry in the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export File for the Standard Bed ADA room type showing the value (if there were multiple rooms of this room type for that night). This value in the file is the sum of all the room revenue.
ROOM TYPE: PENTHOUSE PRESIDENTIAL
This is an example for the Penthouse Presidential room revenue, and in the below screenshot we have a reservation for the Penthouse Presidential room type.
In this example, the revenue for Penthouse Presidential includes not only the room charge but also F&B charges.
In the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export File, the entry for the Penthouse Presidential below is the total value of the room charge and F&B revenue.
ROOM TYPE: PENTHOUSE DUKE OF WINDSOR
This is an example for the Penthouse Presidential room revenue, and below is a reservation for the Penthouse Duke of Windsor room type.
In this example, the revenue for the Penthouse Duke of Windsor includes only the room charge.
In the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export File, the entry for the Penthouse Duke of Windsor below is the total room charge only.
ROOM TYPE: VILLA BOUGAINVILLEA
This is an example for the Villa Bougainvillea room revenue, and below is a reservation for the Villa Bougainvillea room type.
There are two separate reservations for the same guest and for the same room, which means that the revenue for both will be added together.
Conf # 101588 and Conf # 102334
For this room type, there was also a correction of -$150.00, which will be taken into the overall calculation.
This guest also had F&B charges, which will be added to the overall charges for the room type.
Summary of Room Type Villa Bougainvillea:
- Conf # 101588:
- Room Charge: (2678.57 + 2678.57) – 150.00 = 7626.49
- In Room Dining: 11.66
- Conf # 102334:
- Room Charge: 2419.35
- Total revenue: 7626.49 + 11.66+ 2419.35 = 7638.15
The Stayntouch M3 Export File therefore holds an entry for the combination of all the associated transactions that were linked to the Villa Bougainvillea room type for the day.
M3 REVENUE
MARKET CODES
In the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export, Stayntouch PMS sends only room charges to M3 in the market segmentation section of the export and excludes all other forms of revenue. The Daily Production by Demographics Report can be used as a Comparison Report with the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export.

RATE CODES
Revenue for rate codes is same as room type. Revenue sent to M3 includes all charges in the bill. No taxes are sent if they are excluded in the settings. The revenue CANNOT be compared with the Daily Production by Rates Report.
FINANCIAL JOURNAL
The revenue in the Journal REVENUE tab can be compared with the M3 Export File.

The opening and closing balance of the three ledgers as seen in the Journal SUMMARY tab can be compared with the Stayntouch PMS M3 Export File.
DAILY STATISTICS
The figures in the Comparison Report can be compared to the below entries in the Stayntouch M3 Export File for items such as out of order rooms, complimentary rooms, arrival rooms, departure rooms, occupied rooms, and the occupancy percentage.
