Comtrol Data Swap
We now support a DATA SWAP method for Comtrol. Beyond being able to respond to a data swap resync from a vendor via Comtrol (PBX systems, Knowcross, etc.), we can now initiate one, as well. Any particular Comtrol vendor is limited if they process it as part of their DMMs, but the main items, like PBX systems, will take the data. The data does not go to POS systems and such as often.
To initiate a data swap, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Comtrol. From there, you will now see the DATA SWAP tab.
Selecting the DATA SWAP option will prompt you to initiate the data swap.
Selecting this button will prompt a warning that we will send a fair amount of data and will ask you to verify that the swap should move forward.
Upon selecting CONTINUE, you will see the following messages on the LLPTS/LLCC monitor:
- 78 type message, which indicates the start of the sync
- 80 type message, which indicates that the data is syncing
- 82 type message, which will appear at the end of the sync
This sync will send the base data on all rooms in the hotel to the system and will take some time. It is not something that should be run regularly, but is there for start-up at a new hotel or if a PBX needs to be rebooted, etc. The data swap is rarely initiated, as it is like an all time reset, which takes time.
