SALTO – Dongle Encoder Setup for Communicating with Stayntouch

In order for SALTO to be able to send the binary back to Stayntouch for encoding the key, SALTO uses one of their ethernet encoders. It does not matter which encoder, as long as it is an online ethernet encoder, and it is set as the dongle encoder in General Options in SALTO.

If your hotel either disconnects the encoder set as the dongle encoder or makes changes on their network that prevent the dongle encoder from communicating, the SALTO system will acknowledge the command from Stayntouch and respond with a standard command instead of the binary that is needed.

You will need to change the dongle encoder to another encoder connected on the network, and then it will show communication with SALTO.

Please note, when the dongle encoder is set to another encoder, and someone unplugs this device or changes are made on the switch configuration, this will happen again.
