Rover Deposits


In addition to the regular deposit balance shown in the Journal, Rover offers a variety of reports and other features for deposits. To learn more about these options, please review the article below.


DEPOSIT BALANCE


To view the Deposit Balance for your property, navigate to Financials > Journal, where you'll find the DEPOSIT BALANCE, GUEST BALANCE, A/R BALANCE, and TOTALS for each. You can also select to view balances based on EOD for a specific date. To do so, select a date under BALANCES AS OF EOD



Once you've selected a specific date, you can click the downward-facing arrow under DEPOSIT BALANCE to view individual postings for that date. You can then look up a specific deposit for a reservation if you know the day on which the deposit was posted. 



GENERATE REPORTS FOR DEPOSITS


To view deposits for a larger date range, Rover offers several reports for deposits. To access these reports, navigate to Reports > New Report and enter the word "deposit" in the search bar to find all reports concerning deposits.



Upon doing so, the following three reports will populate:

  1. Deposit Balance Summary Report
  2. Group Deposit Report
  3. Guest Deposit Report


The Deposit Balance Summary Report allows you to filter by GUEST/ACCOUNT and SORT BY. Upon selecting RUN REPORT, your report will be generated in the REPORTS INBOX.



Once generated, you will see an overview of all guest and account deposits sorted by name, debit, or credit. You can print this report by selecting the blue printer icon to the top right of the screen.



The Guest Deposit Report features filters for DEPOSIT DUE DATE RANGE (TO) and DEPOSIT DUE DATE RANGE (FROM), PAID DATE RANGE (TO) and PAID DATE RANGE (FROM), ARRIVAL DATE RANGE (TO) and ARRIVAL DATE RANGE (FROM), OPTION(S), RESERVATION STATUS, and SORT BY.





Once generated, the report will appear in REPORTS INBOX with an overview of guest deposits filtered by paid date range, deposit due date range, and arrival date range.



The data generated by the Group Deposit Report is very similar to the Guest Deposit Report; however, you will instead find filters for PAID DUE RANGE (TO) and PAID DATE RANGE (FROM), GROUP DATE RANGE (TO) and GROUP DATE RANGE (FROM), OPTION(S), and SORT BY.



Likewise, once generated, the report will appear in REPORTS INBOX with an overview of group deposits filtered by paid date range and group start date. As before, you can print this report by selecting the blue printer icon to the top right of the screen.



AUTO-CHARGE DEPOSIT


To ensure Auto-Charge Deposit is enabled for your hotel, navigate to Settings > Hotel & Staff > Settings & Parameters > Toggle AUTO-CHARGE DEPOSIT to ON. The Auto-Charge Deposit will adhere to your deposit rules added to your rates. This setting will automatically charge reservations with a credit card attached during the EOD process. You can find these deposits by navigating to Financials > Auto-Charge. Here you'll see all charges made at EOD for the selected date range.



By selecting the orange >>, you'll be directed to the stay card of the reservation shown; at which point, you can navigate to BILL & CHARGES to see the actual charges posted to the card.
