Configuration of California Tourism Assessment Tax


Due to the small percentage for which the California Tourism Assessment Tax is configured, the tax will likely be unnoticeable for some guest rates. For example, if your room rate is $360 per night, the tax will round up to 1¢. If you complete the calculation for lower room rates, like $220 per night, the rate will be so low, it won't round up to 1¢. See the calculation for a room rate of $220 per night below:


$220 x 0.002% (tax) = 0.0044¢
