Gift Card Error Message: "Gift System Disabled"
When using a gift card for payment in Stayntouch PMS, if you receive an error message that reads "GIFT SYSTEM DISABLED", it may be occurring because the property is NOT configured with the gift card processing interface. Please note, the new gift card payment method needs to be added to the charge code.
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:
- Verify that your property is NOT using the gift card interface.
- If the property does not use the gift card interface and receives this message, there is a simple solution:
- Create a new Gift Card payment method type, and name it something else, like Gift Card (Not Givex). See the example below:
BUT WAIT! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
By default, when a new property is created, there are certain payment methods that are already pre-configured in Stayntouch PMS. Those payment types include: Cash, Credit Card, and Gift Cards. These will be denoted with a (system defined) note below the payment method (see the screenshot above).
To avoid issues with system defined payment methods, create a new payment method for the particular gift card the property uses.
