Ability to split a reservation - room changes
One Ocean Resort & Spa - Sage Hospitality - would also like to see this enhancement. It was something they had in their old PMS and was much simpler for managing planned room moves.
This would be a great feature in addition to allowing us to make reservations under one booking for multiple night stays with the same guest and different room types
In my opinion, this is a pretty critical feature that is missing from this PMS. As it is, there is a missing trail in the Room Diary when you move a room and you can only see evidence of a move if you look in the housekeeping room log (which only shows that there was a check-in, not any of the occupant info) so it can be difficult to understand after the fact.
Splitting reservations is very important to properly plan room moves without impacting revenue by blocking a room with OOO or a mock reservation, since that's currently the only way to guarantee that room will be available.

I hear you and we will keep this split reservation feature request open in hopes that our development team adds it to the roadmap. In the meantime, I wanted to make sure you are aware of the new Room Move report that was introduced in January with release v5.89 - here are the notes on that - that has made it so that there is an easier way to find room moves than just the note on the housekeeping room log/reservation activity log. I was excited when this was introduced and thought you might be too if you hadn't seen it yet.

I was unaware of this report being added, so that will be helpful in the meantime. That said, I remain hopeful that a proper reservation split/segment can be introduced in the future as well to help streamline operations and maximize revenue.

Currently, the process requires the hotel staff to shorten the existing reservation, create a new reservation, if a guest wants to change rooms. This feature would streamline the process, making it more efficient and user-friendly for both staff and guests.
