Credit Card Authorizations & 3rd Party Interfaces
In many hotels, guests will use the credit card they have on file with StayNTouch Cloud PMS to make purchases with 3rd party interfaces (like phones, restaurants, spas, movies, Wi-Fi, etc.). Now with the CHECK GUEST AUTHORIZATION FOR INTERFACE POSTINGS, StayNTouch Cloud PMS can be configured to either always authorize or always bypass credit card authorization for postings associated with 3rd party interfaces. This setting only affects incoming postings associated with 3rd party interfaces. If a purchase is added to the guest’s bill through StayNTouch Cloud PMS, StayNTouch Cloud PMS will still verify the guest's credit amount for the card on file. For example, when CHECK GUEST AUTHORIZATION FOR INTERFACE POSTINGS is set to:
ON: StayNTouch Cloud PMS will run credit authorizations for 3rd party interfaces, and the posting is declined if the credit limit has been exceeded for the card on file.
OFF: StayNTouch Cloud PMS will NOT run credit card authorizations for 3rd party interfaces, and the posting will go through regardless of the amount on the card.
By default, this authorization is set to ON, so it does need to be turned OFF for properties that would like to bypass the credit card authorization for 3rd party interfaces.
Step 1. Locate Settings & Parameters
- Navigate to Settings > Hotel & Staff > Settings & Parameters > Payment Gateway Settings > CHECK GUEST AUTHORIZATION FOR INTERFACE POSTINGS.
Step 2. Set to ON or OFF
- Toggle ON or OFF depending on your hotel's preferences.
- The example below is OFF. In this scenario, StayNTouch Cloud PMS would not authorize the credit card amount associated with 3rd party postings.
