Retain Housekeeping Status on Bulk Check-Out

Requested by: Royal National Hotel (Imperial Hotels) Logged: Go-Live Day, June 30, 2026

Business Context:
Royal National is a large tour group-heavy property where guests frequently depart via tour buses or independently without stopping at the front desk. Charges are routed to third parties, leaving zero balances. Around noon, housekeeping identifies vacant due-out rooms and the team performs a bulk check-out to clear them from the system.

Current Problem:
When housekeeping marks due-out rooms as Inspected or Clean prior to bulk check-out, the bulk check-out process resets all those rooms back to Dirty. Staff then have to manually go back and re-mark each room to its prior status — a time-consuming workaround at a 1,379-room property.

Current Workaround:
Open 3 simultaneous browser tabs in Stayntouch:

Tab 1 — Housekeeping filtered to Due-Out + Inspected Tab 2 — Housekeeping filtered to Due-Out + Clean Tab 3 — Execute bulk check-out
After check-out, return to Tabs 1 and 2 and manually re-update rooms back to Inspected/Clean respectively.

Requested Enhancement:
Add a prompt during the bulk check-out flow that asks the user whether to retain current housekeeping status or reset to Dirty. This would allow staff to complete bulk check-outs without triggering unnecessary status reversions on already-inspected or clean rooms.
