With the SNT channel manager (Siteminder), you can't put restrictions in Siteminder, or they will be overridden by SNT. There are sometimes instances where we need to be able to close a "channel", or multiple channels. Being able to set restrictions by channel would be a great option, as opposed to by multiple rate codes.
Scenarios where this would be helpful:
- when we are not ready to launch OTA's but want to connect channels and check ARI, but need the BE to continue to be bookable.
- Putting more strict restrictions (or closure) on OTA's for specific dates
