Hello! There have been discussions before, but the idea has been dismissed. I am hoping we might revisit the idea of disabling or restricting the ability to pre key a reservation.
As of now, keys are able to be made and distributed by staff, whether the reservation is fully checked in or not, which I see causes issues at multiple properties, not just our own. I am hoping your company may edit the current permissions list to be able to revoke this ability among certain staff members or rolls.
Perhaps create a pre key button that may be used for those with permission, and keep the key creation button locked until checkin has occured?

As YOTEL Istanbul, we also specifically request that the key creation feature be disabled prior to check-in. With 451 rooms and a highly dynamic operation, this would be a crucial step for us.
