At our 45-room hotel, we offer 19 different room types and pre-assign room numbers to accommodate guest requests. Currently, when a guest needs to change their reservation dates and their originally booked room type is unavailable, our team has to follow a multi-step process:
* Un assign the current room number.
* Change the reservation dates, which results in overbooking of the original room type.
* Change the room style to the newly selected one.
* Confirm that the rate has been correctly adjusted to the new room style.
* Reassign a room number.
This process is time-consuming for our team, especially because our system triggers modification emails for changes to room type, rate, and dates. This raises a concern that guests might receive multiple, potentially confusing modification emails before we complete all the steps to update their reservation with the correct information.
I'd like to discuss how we might streamline this process to reduce the workload for our team and minimize potential confusion for our guests.
