Please Fix
Has anyone looked into this? Because it is still happening, and now that they have discontinued the penny it is just going to add to the amount of adjustments.
Hi David,
We have a feature that already handles payment rounding to avoid this issue - Payment Rounding. We covered it in detail our recent "Office Hours" session on Fine Tuning Financials. Here is a link to that session - you can jump to 26:10 to see details on how that works.
Thank you for letting me know about that session. But truly, that is not what I was looking at or talking about. And it might just be an issue with our hotel system. So when we are selling items from our market or bar, we have everything set to where on the old system we would enter $2.83 and the system would add the 6% sales tax, making it an even $3.00 sell. And we could put that they bought 2 and the total would be $6.00 even. In this system, when we use the # of item field, it always rounds up to the penny and it caused issues. So will this rounding thing that was taught take care of this or will it make it worse and make it five cents? we want even numbers. Please let me know.
It's my pleasure! This additional clarification makes sense to me... I took a look at your configuration. I did a test posting in a test environment of an item with a price of $2.83, quantity 2, and it seems like that posted $6 even - is there another example that isn't working as well?

Ultimately, if we can see where exactly things aren't working right, we can try to better help guide you to the right solution.
Please fix the tax rounding error when posting anything in multiples. It's a pain when it rounds up and now we are a penny off. This is especially annoying when doing corrections.
