For a hotel that authorizes a larger incidental amount, they sometimes want the ability to authorize less for incidentals than the system would prompt them automatically to do so based on the rules set up in Reservation Settings.
Currently, you can bypass the authorization during check in and choose manual cc auth; and then the user can authorize it manually. This is not ideal for two reasons, however:
If the hotel is using the top up authorization option during night audit, it will automatically try to top up the authorization - when the hotel doesn't want to do that on this specific reservation (would only want to top up to the amount agreed upon with the guest)
Manual cc auth requires manual entry of the amount which can lead to errors.
This is functionality currently available in Opera that Hotel Zephyr would like to see added to Stayntouch.
