Easier way to remove auto posting upgrade fee on a reservation

When a user chooses to upgrade a booking for a fee, there is no simple way to edit or remove that upgrade fee.
You can tell it is going to post if it shows up on the appropriate bill’s Pro Forma invoice or if it is on the activity log. If you do not want to charge the guest the fee, to remove it:
Change the room type to a lower room type
Change the room type back to the intended room type
Extend the reservation by 1 night
Un-extend the reservation by 1 night
To verify this worked, re-generate the appropriate bill’s Pro Forma invoice and confirm it does not appear.
This is a very manual process that is not ideal. Please provide an easier way to edit or remove the auto-posting upgrade fee.
