Oversell prompt for dates already booked when extending a reservation

In general, when you extending the dates on an existing stay to arrive one day earlier (Friday - Sunday already reserved), the system doesn't look for availability for that one day only.  It looks for availability for ALL dates of the stay.  In one example, when you changed the reservation to Thursday, the system will still validate availability for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and if the room type is sold out on one of those days (as your video indicates Friday and Saturday are sold out) you will receive the overbooking prompt.  This design is in place to prevent overbooking for the other days of the stay other than the target arrival date change.

That seems not a good way for this to be set up and I have to say this is hit or miss. I know that the availability pop up doesn't always come up.  Why would the system be built to look at their original booked dates as well when those dates are already actually booked by the guest. They aren't making a new reservation so it wouldn't be overselling the hotel or that room type on those dates already booked.

Guest calls to add Thursday night OR Sunday night to their existing reservation and you're saying that when I edit their nights to include Thursday the system is checking for availability on Thursday but also again on Friday and Saturday even though they already are booked for those dates. - That is broken.
