Ability to refresh the kiosk screen remotely in order for the next guest to use it

Hotel 171 has raised the question of whether it would be possible to refresh the kiosk manually to free it up for the next guest.  The property has their kiosk idle times set to 240 seconds "to give guests some time to read etc ".  With this setting it means that if a guest has not fully completed their check-in (left before confirming on below screen for example), the next guest has to wait 240 seconds (4 minutes), before the screen will be returned to the home screen.

Is it possible to allow the hotel to remotely take the kiosk back to the home screen - possibly through Settings>Integrations>Utilities> Workstations where they could select to refresh the kiosk to take it back to the home screen.

Yes this feature would an added value to us.

Sometimes there are situations in that guest are waiting on each other to check-in at our zest station. However, if guest A leaves the zest station after creating keycards and does not finish the check-in process, we have to call the next guest B that he needs to go back to the main screen manually or he has to wait 5 minutes for the IDLE to work. If we could perform this remotely through the settings>integrations>utilities>workstations it would have been better in this situation.

Hi Cheng,

When you go to the manage kiosk section (with the secret button down right) you could change the Idle Time to 60 seconds (this starts counting when there is no user activity and then returns to the home screen.

You could also change the the Idle screen prompt to 20 seconds for example so the guest will receive a prompt if 'Are you still there'

Dear Kees,

Yeah you are right about the idle prompt to shorten it. We try to find a good timing also for people who take more time to read.

If someone reads everything slowly then a too short idle prompt will be more frustrating then functional.

Still the possibility to do this remotely would be a handy function to have.
