Hello,
In the Reservation by User Report there are 2 columns called Rate Amount and Adjusted Rate Amount. By the name of these columns one can assume that the Rate Amount column shows the original rate when the reservation was created and the Adjusted Rate Amount shows the Adjusted Rate Amount in case it was adjusted by using the Custom Rate option in the Stay Card.
However, the logic is as under:
Rate amount: Average of rate amounts of each night of a reservation Adjusted rate amount: Average of rate amounts of each night of a reservation if the rate was adjusted otherwise it is 0. If the rate is suppressed (SR) , the adjusted rate amount will be shown as 0.
So both the columns show the current average rate for the stay. None of these columns show the original rate which was assigned at the time of reservation creation.
Here is an example:
Scenario 1:
Original Rate for a reservation was $100.00 per night.
The rate did not get adjusted and guest is paying $100.00 per night.
The report will show these 2 columns as under:
Rate Amount: 100.00
Adjusted Rate Amount: 0.00 (This is because it is never adjusted).
Scenario 2:
Original Rate for a reservation was $100.00 per night.
The rate got adjusted to $75.00 per night. So guest is paying $75.00 per night.
The report will show these 2 columns as under:
Rate Amount: 75.00
Adjusted Rate Amount: 75.00
Scenario 3:
Original Rate for a reservation was $100.00 per night.
Rate Code is SR (Suppressed Rate).
The rate got adjusted or does not get adjusted does not matter.
The report will show these 2 columns as under:
Rate Amount: 100.00
Adjusted Rate Amount: 0.00
This is very confusing and it defeats the purpose of having 2 columns with column names Rate Amount and Adjusted Rate Amount when none of them show the original rate when the rate is adjusted. When a rate is adjusted, what is the point in showing the same amount in 2 columns. The Rate Amount should show the original rate and the Adjusted Rate Amount should show Adjusted Rate Amount. Just like the column names.
We are therefore requesting to review this report and make changes to the logic of these columns so that they provide some meaningful information.
