T/A Pymnt Mod, Channel Manager, Built in better Email Functions

I think we can all agree that the travel industry has been devastated. We all, Owners / operators / etc. / are looking to do more with less now more than ever.

StaynTouch has been a star in the Pandemic mainly because it was built with Mobil in mind and the whole Self Check in / out ability! This is a major feature we use.

I understand that Stayntouch has just been purchased by the MCR group (I think that is the name) and we all hope they will continue to push the tech envelope with exciting new features.

I know my hotel has had to do many layoffs, cut way back on shifts, and really dig in to try and survive during these times.  I suspect many hotels are in the same state of affairs. 

StaynTouch offers many integrations. Which is Amazing. The downside is these all cost money. Each integration one gets; CRM, FDG, CHANNEL MANAGER, TEXTING, KEY CARDS, etc. have added costs. 

The last thing I can do right now is to have more costs added on top SNT.

As a matter of fact, I have been cutting back on the add on's. I have had to let a few go. It was hard as I find them to be extremely beneficial. 

So something I would love to see SNT work on is:

  • A more robust Travel Agent Module: It would allow us to print out bills of what is owed by any given time frame
  • Built-in Channel Manager. Pick a few; Expedia, Booking.com, Agoda, etc that are the big players. They all allow integrations directly. Currently, you have to use 3rd party you pay the 3rd party fee plus the Channel Partner margin
  • Built-in Phone Integration: Simple module to connect to some of the Big phone Makers (Mitel is the 800 Pounder), then allow simple call accounting. Currently, you have to use the Comtrol plus purchase Call Accounting software
  • Better TAX Reporting: Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Tax reports. Simple reports that show what the TAXS are. Would make paying so much easier. And for Audits, it would be a breeze. 
  • EMAIl FUNCTION; create a built-in module that allows some basic stuff to fire off emails to guests. Things such as some boolean logic to filter guests. I want to email everyone from the state of {blank}, anyone who stayed in the last 6 months and has a real email address, anyone who booked through Expedia in the last x amount of time, and so forth.  Currently, we have to integrate to Revinate or Cendyn etc. though these systems are powerful they do have an added cost and normally higher than average. 
There is no doubt SNT has a great product but the new normal will be trying to do more with less. Now more than ever. Every penny spent will need to double justified.  I feel going forward the more SNT can build in as base functionality the better you are for the long term. Keep in mind companies like Roomsmaster, InnRoads, Opera, etc came to the other direction building on-premise and building tons of functions in.  Now they are all trying to get the mobile thing, self-check-in thing, and having to create from the ground up.
In either case, this is my two cents.

Thank you very much for your very valuable feedback. Some very good comments you have there, very appreciative for the detailed feedback.

Product Development for StayNTouch will never be complete as the industry evolves and some of the above items are areas we have already discussed and / or have them as thoughts for a future roadmap.

With our recent change of ownership we definitely also want to review our partner network and see where we could help our customers with strategic relations going forward. I will make sure to keep our customers posted as this thought process evolves and as we have something more definitive in regards to the above on our roadmap.


The tax reporting is definitely already something we are thinking of, I would love to get some more details on your thoughts here.
