Credit Card transaction amount limitation

Is it possible to create a system setting to limit a single credit card transaction amount to $99,999.99? Our merchant services cannot process any transaction greater than this due to number of character restrictions.

The CC gateway will reject any transaction greater than $99,999.99. However SNT allows transactions greater than that to be posted. We want to prevent the posting and enable a max amount for the posting amount
