There needs to be a button or switch directly on stay cards that, when activated, will exclude taxes from a reservation or current stay. I often have guests who end up staying for an extended period of time when they didn't originally intend to and after 30 days, they become exempt from all taxes. Currently, I'm forced to build a rate code for each rate that I may need to exempt from taxes in order to switch them to a rate code that matches the current rate but excludes taxes. Furthermore, there should be an option to remove all taxes (or selected taxes) that have already been applied while leaving the base rate intact.
I used to use a PMS called roomMaster, and all folios had a button on them labeled "adjust". When clicked, a separate window would open that had numerous options (change rate code, change to custom rate amount, exempt from taxes, etc.,). Once you selected the options you wanted you would just click the adjust button and it would remove all previous rate posts and repost them with the correct adjustments. It didn't matter how long a guest had been staying, 2 nights or 300 nights, it would adjust them all. Rover forces me to correct each post, one at a time and when someone has been here for 30 days or more, it becomes incredibly tedious and time consuming.
