Better Minibar Status Communication Options

There is an Abreez interface through Comtrol (Comtrol is the middleware that Jupiter uses today) that allows direct room charges from tablets for minibar charges. Other than charges being added directly in the room or while the attendant is in the room, you will continue to need to communicate these charges to another person for posting. The easiest solution would be to have someone on staff with the appropriate posting permission and a tablet present to do real-time room posting of minibar charges. As you know, the PMS is available to from anywhere there is network connection and that tablet use gives you the best mobile use of all PMS functionality and if the housekeeper that monitors minibar inventory is equipped with a tablet, they can go to the reservation directly and add those charges themselves.
As far as communicating the status to the inspector, this is something not available in Rover PMS.

We are looking for a better solution for the in room minibar process. We are finding it challenging to maintain effective communication between the minibar attendant and the housekeeping inspector as to the in room minibar status. When they restock the minibar, they are charging the guest for the items. When they are finished with the minibar, they notify the inspector, usually through a text message. It would be easier if there were someplace in StayNTouch to communicate the minibar status to the inspector. Once the minibar is ready to go, we would like to be able to mark the room as minibar ready in StayNTouch so that when it is inspected it can be inspected and minibar ready. Do you have a suggestion for this process? There is another PMS that we have been given a demo for that has this ability. It would be great if you could offer some solutions.
