At the point of check out the pre authorisation from the guest is released automatically - this gives house keeping no time to check that the room is left in order without anything stolen.
By default the pre authorisation amount should not be released to the card unless done manually by a staff member, or after 48 hours post check out.
Also the pre authorisation should be something you can attach to bookings - so that when someone extends their stay they dont have to give another pre authorisation
