Another way where this feature would be helpful is in overselling a room type. Suppose there is a high demand for twin rooms and little demand for triple rooms. The availability for distribution for twins can be set higher than the actual amount. If there is oversell, then triple rooms can be assigned to guests who have booked twins.

Some PMS systems have implemented, separate from the “Room Availability”, a “Room Availability for Distribution”. Only the latter (which is necessarily smaller than the Room Availability) is communicated to the channel manager.
Is this a concept that SnT is thinking of? The reason why this would be helpful is that HQA prefers to avoid group bookings, and has a strong preference to send availability in smaller chunks to the channel manager/OTAs.
