Housekeeping Tasks
Hi Stayntouch Team,
We would like to submit a feature request to improve the housekeeping task list functionality when managing Out of Order (OOO) rooms.
Current Challenge:
At present, when a room is placed Out of Order, it still appears on the housekeeping task list unless specific filters are used. However, if too many task options are selected (e.g., “All Dirty Rooms,” “All Departures,” “All Stayovers,” etc.), the system may begin to duplicate rooms on the task list, causing confusion and inefficiency for our housekeeping team.
Additionally, when a room comes back in service from OOO status, there is no automated way to assign a task to housekeeping to either verify that the room is guest-ready or to perform a cleaning if needed.
Requested Features:
OOO Rooms Suppressed from Active Housekeeping Lists:
When a room is marked as Out of Order, it should automatically be removed from all active housekeeping task lists—without requiring the user to fine-tune the task list filters.
Custom Task Trigger Upon Return to Service:
When a room is taken out of OOO status and returns to inventory, there should be an option to automatically generate a housekeeping task, such as:
“Verify Room Condition”
“Deep Clean”
“Return to Guest-Ready”
This task should be easily identifiable on the task list, assigned with the appropriate priority and due date.
Prevent Duplicate Room Assignments:
Improve the logic in the task list generation so that no room appears more than once, even when multiple task types are selected (e.g., cleaning + inspection). A visual tag or filter logic could help avoid redundancies.
Business Impact:
These enhancements would:
Increase clarity and accuracy for housekeeping staff
Prevent rooms from being missed or cleaned unnecessarily
Save time and reduce human error in task assignment
Ensure a smoother transition of rooms from maintenance status back to guest availability
We believe this functionality would be a valuable addition to the Stayntouch platform and benefit other properties managing inventory and housekeeping workflows efficiently.
Please let us know if this idea is feasible and if there’s any additional detail you need from our side to support implementation.

1) Add Out of Order and Out of Service to Settings --> Rooms --> Task Management so that we can choose whether or not out of order rooms should be included in task sheets.
2) Allow us to choose a 'return' status for Out of Order / Out of Service rooms. ie: We can choose that 301 will return to inventory as DIRTY so that housekeeping can clean the room. Or, if the Out of Order was for spring cleaning, then we would like to choose that the room returns to inventory as inspected. (examples) A simple drop down on the out of order/service screen would be great.
