Availability calendar for parking spaces

We have an item calendar which we would normally suggest to use for things like bike rental - I wonder whether this could potentially solve your problem? If you set up the parking ADD ON, you can add inventory for it. I.e. if you have 20 parking spaces, add 20.
Once you do this, with every reservation that you attach the add on to, the count will decrease for the reservation dates. We also show you a message in case you are out of inventory but still allowing the user to proceed with the reservation (permission dependent).
On the availability screen (slide out from the right) change the drop down to item inventory to see how many you have left for any given date.

Thanks a lot for your reply. It wasn't obvious at first where the "Item Inventory" was hiding, but this is a great feature that you helped us discover. Looks as if this is exactly what we are looking for. I'll do some more investigations and will get back in touch should I need further information.

One question though about the Add-On we have created for "Parking": we added inventory (30) to the definition of the Add On. When we create a reservation, and select this add-on, there is a drop downlist that allows the user to select 1, 2 and 3. I guess this is the number of parking spaces that the user can reserve - but why 3? Is this parameter pre-defined somewhere? I would have expected that a user can reserve up to the maximum number of available parking spaces with a room reservation?

Thanks for your reply. As per the attached screen shot, the add-on "parking" shows a quantity of 3, which begs the question why 3? Is this a parameter that can be set up somewhere? Or has it been implicitly assumed that a user cannot reserve more than 3 rooms at a time?

We are also working with parking - but our problem is that the guest is staying for one night but we have a longtime parking (airport) so we need to have the car booked for a longer time. This mean that we can not use Items due to that it is only connected with the "main" room reservation.
Or...?

If you have access to Hotel Admin, have a look at Rates -> Add ons, and within the add on configuration what is set for the field 'inventory'. Also to compare, pull out the availability screen and look for item inventory on the drop down.

Unfortunately yes, the reservation dates would have to match the add on dates.

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I did not explain myself very well.
I can see the field "inventory" for the add-on "Parking", which is set to 30 and that is fine.
When the ADD-ON is used in a new reservation via the ADD button (in green), then the reservation screen shows below another button QUANTITY (in grey), with a drop down list where up to 3 "quantities" can be selected. I see that this is the case for any ADD-ON.
My question is why 3?
Is this a hard wired parameter that has been associated with the way ADD-ONS are configured in the system or can this be customised for each ADD-ON?

We have an open case. Ticket 61943. Ann Fridlundh has made it. I also want us to be able to reserve lets say a parkinglot only for 1 night even though the guest stays longer. Its not possible now. So please take a look at 61943 and help us there :)
An interesting feature to add to the system would be an availability calendar for parking spaces.
In the current system, charges for parking can be handled via the add-ons, but it is currently not possible to check whether a parking space is available for a given date in the future.
