Day Use Rooms

Hi, When checking out a day use guest (crew) the room revenue is not automatically posted. We then have to manually post this. And could therefore easy be forgotten... It would be nice if this is posted upon checkout.

Hi Hanna,

Just found this - we now added this as an automated feature at check in.

Thanks,

Hi Nicki, so is there anything that we need to do in settings or is this just ready to go?

SNT Team

Good day Hanna,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To elaborate on the day use functionality, as Nicki mentioned we automated the posting of the room and taxes for a day use reservation (booking where the number of nights is 0)  to be done during the check in process.

In the example below the reservation is made with 0 nights using the day use rate

This booking has not been checked in yet and below you can see that no room and taxes were posted to the account.

Once the user proceeds with the check in and complete the entire check in, the system will identify that this is a 0 night booking and will automatically post the room and taxes, this will be done without the user having to manually process anything

We also added some additional functionality to easily identify and manage day use reservations

1. We added a rate setup setting - Day Use: This will allow the hotel to build a specific rate for day use reservations and during the booking process should a 0 night booking be made, then only the day use rates will display as recommended rates for the user to select.

Rate Setup - Day Use toggle

As mentioned during the booking process the day use rates will display as recommended and the rates will be marked with a red D - please note should the user prefer use any other rate which is not a day use rate, they can select those rates from the rate view, but note the room and taxes will still post automatically upon check in if the reservations is made with 0 nights.

Should a day use rate be used for a multi night reservation (not recommended) the booking will behave as a normal nightly booking and post the room and taxes during the night audit as its the 0 night that will trigger the auto posting of rates during the check in process.

In terms of the auto post functionality for 0 nights, you don't need to setup anything, but if you wish to sell specific day use rates you can setup those rates with the day use toggle being active.

I hope this answers your question, and should you require any further information please do not hesitate to ask.

Kindest Regards
