Actually, searching names should do the same. Prioritize the reservations from the date selected, then place past reservations on the bottom
Totally agree. You could sort by current and future guest first, then past guests on the bottom.
In general, the search function could be sooo much more powerful. Searching all arrivals for a specific date, departures, without generating a report. Would be so much more dynamic and on the fly.
Also, hitting "enter" should not reset the search

Should be able to search by confirmation numbers in the past without having to adjust your starting search date range.
