Task Management 

A Guide for Managers & Staff


This guide will help Rover-users understand the different screens Housekeeping Managers and their Staff see when working in Rover PMS. This guide is meant to help demonstrate how user settings and permissions can impact the screens and settings available to different Rover-users. 


*As always, depending on your user-settings, your view/access may vary slightly.


HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER: 


In this example, our user has the role of Manager. Their profile has been configured with the following settings:


(1) Settings > Hotel & Staff > User Setup > Select/create the user

  • User Role: Manager 
  • Default Dashboard: Manager 


(2) Settings > Hotel & Staff > Permissions

  • Assigned: Access Task Management 
  • Assigned: Access Task Maintenance 
  • Assigned: Housekeeping Room Status Access 


The Dashboard View 

  • This view includes Guest Counts, Occupancy Rates, and Room Counts.
  • Managers can create reservations with the +NEW button. 



Housekeeping Settings 

  • The sidebar menu is another example of how user-access can vary. 
  • Take note of how many options the user has to choose from. 
  • Additionally, the Housekeeping button reveals two pages for selection: Room Status and Task Management



Task Management 

  • To begin assigning tasks, navigate to Housekeeping > Task Management
  • Below we have an example of what a Manager sees when assigning tasks to a single staff member - J. Smith. 
  • In this example, J. Smith (James Smith) has been assigned four dirty rooms: 1007, 189, 191, and 111009. 
  • Scroll down to the next section to see what J. Smith sees while logged in to Rover.  





HOUSEKEEPING STAFF:


In this example, our user has the role of Floor & Maintenance Staff. This user's profile has been configured with the following profile settings: 


(1) Settings > Hotel & Staff > User Setup > Select/create the user

  • User Role: Floor & Maintenance Staff 
    • ONLY users who are assigned the Floor & Maintenance Staff user role will appear for selection on the Task Management page.  
  • Default Dashboard: Housekeeping  


(2) Settings > Hotel & Staff > Permissions

  • Housekeeping Room Status Access 


Task Management 

  • The screenshot below is the view the Housekeeper, James Smith, sees while logged in to Rover (Housekeeping > Room Status page). 
  • If you look at the Manager's view (screenshot above), the same rooms are listed: 1007, 189, 191, and 111009.
  • This page includes the following: 
    • Room Number
    • Room Type
    • Housekeeping Task (Turndown, Stayover Clean, etc.)  
    • Housekeeping Status (Dirty, Clean, Inspected, Pickup) 
    • Arrival / Departure Times (If a reservation is assigned to the room) 
    • Housekeeper's Name 
    • Room Occupancy (Vacant / Occupied) 
  • This page informs James Smith of the dirty rooms they have been assigned.   



Housekeeping Settings 

  • The sidebar menu below is what a Housekeeping Staff Member sees.
  • You will notice there are fewer options to choose from than the Manager's view. 
  • This user's housekeeping button only displays the Room Status button.



The Dashboard View 

  • The Dashboard view for someone who has been assigned the Housekeeper Dashboard will see Room Counts, Occupancy Counts, and Guest Counts. 
  • It does NOT include the ability to create reservations.
